As part of the graveyard tour, Chris Evans portrayed Lemuel James, a Union soldier in the Federal Army, who later became a lawyer and Justice of the Peace. He was also the father to Kentucky Senator Ollie James.

Darlene LaRue portrayed Nannie Ellen Loyd in the graveyard tour, a pioneer woman from the Piney Fork Community. Her father helped to organize the Presbyterian church at Crayneville and her husband worked for Senator Ollie James for a time in Washington D.C.

Eric LaRue acted as Nobe Boston in the tour. Boston seemed to be a jack of all trades according to his 1900 ad in the Crittenden Press which stated his company could produce, Furniture, Undertaking department complete with coffins, caskets and handsome hearse. Also, building lumber, paints and oils.

 

 

Miss Mildred Summerville was portrayed by Phyllis Sykes. Miss Summerville was born in Mattoon where her father ran the general store. She was a graduate of University of Kentucky and taught school in Marion at both the elementary and high school in the 1920s and 30s.

James Orme, owner of Orme's Drug Store, was portrayed by Stuart Collins. Orme, had his share of ups and downs in the business world including a fire at his store that burned much of the business section of Marion in 1905.

Vicky Collins portrayed Mae Dixon, who was originally from Tolu and she and her husband inherited farm land and a cabin. For many years she lived on Hurricane Valley Farm, but her log cabin was moved to Marion and is now owned by the Historical Society and sets on N. College Street.

Mary Hollamon played the character of Sallie Hayward. Mrs. Hayward moved to Marion after marrying her husband Edward Hayward who was a founder of Farmers Bank. She and her husband built their home in 1904, what is now known as the "old hospital."
